Well that nearly puts a bow on the 2010-11 high school wrestling season.
The area did not produce a state champion in either classification but there were six placewinners, including one silver medalist and two bronze medalists.
Over the next week or two, we'll put together and release the All-Sentinel wrestling team and decide who is the Wrestler of the Year. To be honest, that's a difficult decision to make this year since we had one runner-up in Class AA and two third-place finishers in Class AAA. An argument can be made for all three.
Once that's done, we'll roll right into the high school baseball season. In fact, expect the first post about baseball early next week. Spring practice began March 7 and the first day of games is March 25. So stay tuned.
Again, thanks for visiting both Inside the Red Zone and cumberlink.com over the last few weeks to follow the area wrestlers. The amount of visits the blog received from area wrestling fans was outstanding.
