Busy day for Class AA

To call this a long day would be an understatement.

Those Class AA wrestlers lucky enough to be alive on the second day of the PIAA Championships have their work cut out for them today, especially if they fall into the consolation bracket.

There are five sessions of wrestling today and tonight for the Class AA guys. The worst-case scenario is a loss in the 8 a.m. quarterfinal round. Those wrestlers have a quick turnaround and wrestle again in the 9:45 a.m. consolation second round.

Win there and it's off to the 6:30 p.m. consolation quarterfinals and another win sends the wrestler into the 9 p.m. consolation semifinals against a championship semifinal loser.

And, by the way, Class AAA also wrestles today at 1 p.m. (quarterfinals) and 2:45 p.m. (consolation second round).

The big-school wrestlers have a lengthy Saturday but it's nothing like what these Class AA guys have today.
