Jayshon Wilson isn't your typical freshman.
He proved that Saturday night at West Mifflin High School by winning, in dominating fashion, the 135-pound weight class at the Steve DeAugustino Holiday Classic.
Wilson pinned three opponents in the first period, including his fall of Michael Kazalas in 1:35 to earn the top of the podium. The only win not via fall for Wilson was a technical fall of Daniel Duffy in the quarterfinals.
Wilson was named the tournament's Outstanding Wrestler and the Herd finished third, behind champion Bermudian Springs and runner-up Bethel Park.
