After an impressive run to the 2007 Powerade Christmas Tournament semifinal round at Canon-McMillan High School, Cedar Cliff grapplers Tom Heckman and Keith Dickey were bounced by the slimmest of margins.
At 171 pounds, Heckman dropped an 11-8 decision to Peter Huntley of Virginia's Colonial Forge High School.
In the 189 semifinal, Dickey's run ended with a tough 3-2 decision to Parkersburg (W. Va.) standout Andy Thomas.
In the sixth consolation round, Connellsville's Zach Benzio beat Dickey, 9-5, while Heckman earned a 7-6 win in overtime against Braden Carter, from Christianburg (Va.).
Heckman will face Shady Side Academy's Kurt Brendel, who pinned West Allegheny's Mark Vuono in 3:57, in the other sixth-round consolation matchup.
The consolation semifinals are set to begin at 5 p.m.
As it stands, Cedar Cliff is 22nd out of 42 teams with fellow Mid-Penn member Central Dauphin first.
