Northern outfielder Joe Tuschak was selected by the New York Mets in the sixth round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Tuesday. Tuschak, a Coastal Carolina recruit, was taken with the 192nd overall pick.
Tuschak is batting .469 this year with six doubles, eight home runs and 30 RBIs. The four-year starter has a career average of .397 with 17 doubles, five triples, 15 home runs and 85 RBIs.
