Top dual meets this week

As the new year draws near, here's a list of some of best dual meets for the first week of 2008. It's a short week, but full of excitement.

Wednesday
Big Spring at Chambersburg -- The Bulldogs haven't lost a Mid-Penn Colonial dual meet this season. With wins over Cumberland Valley, Carlisle and Gettysburg, the Trojans might be the only team that could hand Big Spring a divisional loss this year.

Thursday
Carlisle at Mechanicsburg -- Sure, the Wildcats are winless in dual meets, but they've held their own in tournaments and have been in most of their meets. Heavyweight Danny Estricher, fresh off first-place finish in the Buckskin Classic, is one to watch for the maroon and gray.

Susquenita at Central Dauphin East -- The Panthers are an eyebrow-raising 7-1 in dual meets this season and 2-1 in the Commonwealth. Susquenita is 1-1 in the division. It's unlikely either will catch front-running Central Dauphin or second-place Lower Dauphin, but the winner will likely finish the year third.
