Barn comes to life

Maybe it's a combination of the early start time, the weather or the smaller brackets, but the first session of the District 3 Individual Wrestling Championships always seems rather bland.

We're not talking about the action on the floor but rather the buzz, or lack thereof, in the crowd. We understand that people have day jobs and some view Class AA as an inferior product, but when the afternoon session rolls around, the energy level picks way (you can add a few extra a's in there, if you like) up.

The difference was noticeable right away when Class AAA action kicked off at 3:30 p.m. Dedicated fans were screaming for their favorite wrestler(s) and on more than one occasion, it seemed the entire crowd was following one match. It just feels different as the action moves into the afternoon and evening.

Luckily, the two classes wrestle simultaneously Saturday, which gives the Class AA guys a chance (and a well-deserved one, we might add) to wrestle in front of a large audience.
